Exciting news!   We have our first woman ever to serve as the Speaker of the House!


Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi (born March 26, 1940) is the Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives. She is expected to be the first woman ever to serve as the Speaker of the House[1] in 2007, after the Democrats won control of the United States House of Representatives in the 2006 Congressional Elections. Pelosi is the first woman to lead a major political party in either house of Congress. She has represented California's 8th District since 1987.
